About Me

My name is Ben Garrison, and I am excited to be in my first year of teaching.  Prior to joining the staff at Bennett Intermediate School, I was an archaeologist in Wyoming for about 15 years.  I then drove service/delivery trucks in Denver for the past six years.  I have a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology (concentration in Archaeology), graduating from the University of Wyoming in 2005.  I also have a professional certification in Geographic Information Systems, graduating from Casper College in 2016.  When my wife accepted a position at Bennett Middle School, I decided it was time for me to be closer to home.  Having the same schedule as the rest of my family was a welcome change to 15 years of random schedules with my other jobs!

We have lived in Strasburg for the last 6 years; my wife is from here and we prefer rural to city life.  I have volunteered as a soccer coach for EPYSA for the past 5 years, and have also coached a season of baseball with BYBSA.  I am currently attending the Alternative Licensure classes offered by East Central BOCES to continue my studies in education.  It is an honor to continue to serve the community I've grown to call home.  Coaching and raising my own three children (who attend Bennett Primary, Intermediate, and Middle Schools) has ignited in myself a desire to work with the kids in our community and help them to become the pillars that will hold up our community and country for years to come.
