Bennett School District is cooperating with law enforcement and Adams County Sheriff’s Department to debrief on the incident that occurred off school property on August 29, 2023 at 5:15pm. The District canceled school and all activities for August 30, 2023, in order to debrief and ensure student and staff safety. Adams County Sheriff’s Department notified us that law enforcement took an adult into custody on scene at Trupp Park. The Sheriff's office is still investigating all parties involved.
The safety, security and well-being of our students, staff, and families is our utmost priority. Tragic incidents such as this have a significant impact and can take an emotional toll on many. BSD remains dedicated and will provide resources that will aid our students, staff, and families as they return to school.
