^{COVID Quarantine/Isolation Procedures 2022-23}

^{Positive COVID TEST}

^{How long: Five days.}

^{However, if on day five the symptoms are the same or worse and/or a fever develops, continue isolating until fever free for 24 hours and symptoms are improving. ·}

^{After isolation, the person should still take precautions for five more days. Wear a mask, avoid eating and drinking at close proximity to others and avoid contact with high risk individuals.}

^{If a person has been exposed to someone who has COVID, quarantine is not required.}

What cleaning procedures are being used?

Our custodial and maintenance staff are attending intensive training on cleaning procedures with the health department as well as in-service training within the District both this week and next. All cleaning and disinfecting procedures will be followed using the information from the link below:

Here is an excerpt from our plan in regards to a known case in the building:

In the event of a COVID exposure; the schools will be cleaned and disinfected following all health department guidelines before re-opening using the following procedures:
- When a positive case is identified, access will be restricted and outside doors and windows will be opened to increase air circulation to the exposed areas. A minimum of 2 hours -24 hours will be completed before cleaning and disinfecting to minimize potential for exposure to respiratory droplets. b. Droplet precautions when cleaning/disinfecting a room or area that has been occupied by a COVID-19 positive person will be followed: gown, isolation mask, face shield or protective goggles, disposable gloves and shoe covers. c. Clean and disinfect all areas (e.g., offices, bathrooms, and common areas) used by the ill persons, focusing especially on frequently touched surfaces. If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

What cleaning will the night crew of custodians do:

We will have both a day crew and a night crew that will not only be cleaning but disinfecting which is the important piece to keep COVID at bay in the buildings. The night crew will use a fogger machine with chemicals to disinfect each classroom, workrooms, hallways, and offices everyday. They will also wipe down commonly used surfaces with antibacterial wipes each evening. The night crew will clean the building as well which includes: vacuuming, dusting, windows, restrooms, locker rooms, floors, etc.

The day crew will clean and disinfect restrooms throughout the school day and will disinfect areas that are touched throughout the school day as well as disinfecting workrooms that are used for meetings after each use. They will also remove all trash and clean.

What does cleaning of the buses look like:

The buses will be fogged and disinfected after every use. They will be cleaned as needed. Please keep in mind that cleaning and disinfecting are two separate things and during COVID, disinfecting is more intensive then regular cleaning to keep the virus off surfaces.
